About Spiritualism
Spiritualism is my religion and although it has been formally recognized as a religion in the United States in 1893 and made fully legal in the United Kingdom in 1951, nothing about Spiritualism is new. All the prophets throughout history have communed with the spirit world and even today many orthodox religions accept that the ministry of angels is available to everyone. Spiritualism has no creed, no dogma, no Savior, no prophet, only principles. The Spiritualists’ National Union lists them as:
1. The Fatherhood of God.
2. The Brotherhood of Man.
3. The Communion of Spirits and the Ministry of Angels.
4. The continuous existence of the human soul.
5. Personal responsibility.
6. Compensation and retribution hereafter for all the good and evil deeds done on earth.
7. Eternal progress is open to every human soul.
As a Spiritualist, spiritual healing and mediumship are expressions of my religion. They are a sacred service.
We (Spiritualist Mediums) can’t convince anybody of everything. We can only sow a seed. The greatest thing we can do is stimulate people to find out more for themselves. We can’t take away the pain of loss but if we have taken away the fear of death, if we have given hope where there was none before, then we have done something worthwhile.
